This is the required driving course for all 16-year-olds who want to drive before their 17th birthday in New Jersey.
In New Jersey students 16 years of age who want their NJ Learners Permit* before they reach 17 need to fill out the appropriate forms and have a certified and licensed driving school to submit the application with appropriate information to the Motor Vehicle Commission Agency. The student must provide four-point identification, which can include a birth certificate, adoption papers, naturalization papers, or a United States passport (less than 3 years expired). A Signed Driving School Contract, showing proof the student is enrolled in a driving training course. Parental Consent is required. Students must pass a state-approved NJ written exam either taken at their high school or at selected NJMVC locations. An eye test for a driving license will be administered in their first driving lesson & driver education. We have flexible hours which can fit within anyone’s busy schedule (weekends, schools days, and evenings). The six hours are typically given in three 2 hour Driving lesson class segments. They are private one on one instruction, and no one else may be within the vehicle. We have availability for everyone….
*The High School card your student has received for passing the exam is NOT an NJ Learners Permit
****If you are under the under of 17 the NJMVC will not sell the student or his parents the NJ Learners Drivers Permit Test. You must obtain this driver’s permit test through a professional driver-license test driving school i.e.
